Origami Box - super easy!

I have been making these little boxes for as long as I can remember! They are so easy and you can do any size and use any paper you want. My kids like to stamp and color card stock and then fold the box. This creates a really personal effect and the creative possibilities are endless!
* First begin with a square piece of paper...any size
* Fold paper from corner to corner in both directions
* Fold outer corner up to center of paper - repeat on all 4 sides
* Now fold up again aligning the fold with the horizontal center line * Unfold and move to next corner - continue with all 4 corners
* Open your paper - You will see the center square which will be the underside of the top of your box. (I have marked it in blue just for a clear picture of what we are looking at)
*The 4 black lines indicate where you will CUT. (these are the only cuts you will make) Only cut up to the center square (marked in blue)
* After cutting all 4 lines - Start working with the large wings first. Fold corner into center just as in the beginning but then fold in the flaps on top of each other to create nice crisp corners. I then fold the whole piece in toward the center and make a nice crease again. Now repeat on opposite side. I use a little piece of double sided tape to help keep things in place while folding.
* Next stand the large wing fold up on its end with the flaps extending toward the other side to create walls. Repeat on opposite side. You will see your box begin to take shape! I use a little tape here too help keep everything in place.
* Now with the 2 smaller sides you will fold them up and over the 'walls' you have created. I tape under the center triangles to hold everything in place. (use good sticky tape - I don't use glue because it will warp the paper and it looks funny)
There it is!
Now time to create the bottom portion. Its done exactly the same way but start with a square of paper just SLIGHTLY smaller than the one you just made.
OK I hope you can understand what I am trying to explain! My brain is mush - so if you have questions please send me an email.

Simple flourish card

I was asked to make a simple card with not too much foo-foo. This is what I came up with. I would probably do a little more to it if I was giving it, but the person I designed this for LOVED IT! YEAH! I love it when that happens!

Small Gift Bag

Super cute little gift bag. I used Plantin and just cut the handles off and replaced them with a ribbon handle.
This can be used in a million different ways... bridal shower favors, gift bags, class treats, birthday party favors.... whatever you want.

PIVOT-card

AT LAST! I saw this card on Stampin' Up and I just loved it - HOWEVER.... I hated the pattern! There was far too much measuring and scoring involved and worst of all..... No Cricut! What? I need my Cricut.... cuz I'm a Cricut junkie!

So after dealing with the template a few times I thought "Bag this idea! I will create a pattern of my own using my Cricut!"

What do ya know.............

IT WORKED LIKE A CHARM! When you gently pull on the left and right side of the card the inside card pivots and TA-DA.... This is what you get! How cute is that! - Oh so many possibilities with this card - I have included the cut file below - http://www.mediafire.com/?mcffhfxf7fm
* Cut 1 frame - I used a heavy weight card stock, but thinner paper works if you cut two (2) and glue back to back. Personally I prefer to use card stock - Its much easier to work with. Align ruler with the inside wall of left rectangle and score up to top of frame and down to bottom frame - repeat on right rectangle (you will have four vertical score lines) Fold score lines - left side mountain right side valley. (I use highly technical tools to score...... A ruler and a crochet hook - I am thinking about a patent for this technique)

* Next cut 2 Center Cut pieces - I used the same card stock as the frame, but you can use whatever you like. It should have some 'body' to it in order for it to work properly.
* Cut 2 Smaller Center pieces in coordinating paper.
* I like to embellish the center pieces before gluing to frame. I glue the smaller center pieces on top of the larger center pieces. Decorate one for the front and the other for the inside (flip side). Keep in mind that you may want to leave room on the flip side for writing a personal message or signature.
* Glue the 'front' center piece to frame - repeat on with back center piece.
* Embellish as desired
* Shazam.... The PIVOT-card is born!

(Email me if you are interested in a copy of a non-Cricut template)

I love the buckle card!

When I first saw these buckle cards on Stampin' Up I LOVED them! Oh-So many possibilities and Oh-So easy!

Gigantic Matchbook (notebooks)

Ok.... I was having too much fun! We made these HUGE matchbooks but they turned out really cute!
They measure approximately 6" x 6".

Cute little Matchbook Notebooks

I had so much fun making these cute little matchbook notebooks! I made tons of different sizes and styles. My daughter and her friends thought they were the cutest things EVER! I am working on making a bunch of them for birthday party invitations. The party info will be on the first little page when you open it up. WAY TOO CUTE!

Four-Leaf Envy Cut file

Ok... Michael won! What a stud!! I cant get enough of the Olympics! Here is the cut file for the Four-Leaf Envy. Once you make the cut, score and fold circles in half towards center. You should have a 5.5" square in the center. (I am not sure that I am explaining this very well so if you have questions please feel free to contact me!) http://www.mediafire.com/?sharekey=f8850c1d4bafa1e5d2db6fb9a8902bda Thanks!

Four-Leaf Envy

Ok... I was trying to make Christmas cards/envelopes to put Christmas photos in..... and what do ya know - This works great for CD and DVD envelopes too!
So its a 2-fer deal! (two for one)
(Mom came up with the name Four-Leaf Envy)

New Craft Room

I finally did it! I moved my craft stuff to a larger room and I love it. I am still getting it all put together but it is coming along. I loved my 'Memories' phrase from the old room so I made another one in a different font. (If you cant read it it says "Every day Moments Make the best Memories")

My son ROCKS!

My 14 year old son made this paper organizer for me! He drew up a plan, cut the wood and put it all together - ALL ON HIS OWN!
What an amazing kid! I just adore him!
Thanks Chance - I love ya!

CD/DVD Envelopes with .cut file

Super easy CD or DVD envelopes. This is just a basic pattern - you can embellish it a million different ways. I use a lot of belly-band and Velcro dots to close the envelopes.
Once you have made the cut, score at 3.25" (from top) 8.75" and at both wings. Fold in wings and glue lower flap up onto wings.

Another example of DVD/CD envelope. These are so fun to make using a Christmas theme! Super easy to make and everyone thinks you spend hours and hours making them!

CD/DVD Enys

CD/DVD Envys

Custom CD's and DVD's loaded with family favorites are great gifts. I got tired of the same old plastic CD cases so decided to create a little something with my cricut. TA-DA!
These can also be done in Christmas, Birthday, or New Years theme!
