AT LAST! I saw this card on Stampin' Up and I just loved it - HOWEVER.... I hated the pattern! There was far too much measuring and scoring involved and worst of all..... No Cricut! What? I need my Cricut.... cuz I'm a Cricut junkie!
So after dealing with the template a few times I thought "Bag this idea! I will create a pattern of my own using my Cricut!"
What do ya know.............
IT WORKED LIKE A CHARM!
When you gently pull on the left and right side of the card the inside card pivots and TA-DA....
This is what you get!
How cute is that!
- Oh so many possibilities with this card -
I have included the cut file below -
http://www.mediafire.com/?mcffhfxf7fm
* Cut 1 frame - I used a heavy weight card stock, but thinner paper works if you cut two (2) and glue back to back. Personally I prefer to use card stock - Its much easier to work with. Align ruler with the inside wall of left rectangle and score up to top of frame and down to bottom frame - repeat on right rectangle (you will have four vertical score lines) Fold score lines - left side mountain right side valley. (I use highly technical tools to score...... A ruler and a crochet hook - I am thinking about a patent for this technique)
* Next cut 2 Center Cut pieces - I used the same card stock as the frame, but you can use whatever you like. It should have some 'body' to it in order for it to work properly.
* Cut 2 Smaller Center pieces in coordinating paper.
* I like to embellish the center pieces before gluing to frame. I glue the smaller center pieces on top of the larger center pieces. Decorate one for the front and the other for the inside (flip side). Keep in mind that you may want to leave room on the flip side for writing a personal message or signature.
* Glue the 'front' center piece to frame - repeat on with back center piece.
* Embellish as desired
* Shazam.... The PIVOT-card is born!
(Email me if you are interested in a copy of a non-Cricut template)
