New nightstand!

Lions and Tigers and ZEBRAS, oh my!
This poor old nightstand just went through its third makeover. It started out as ugly 'fake' wood, then it went to white, then black, now wild kingdom zebra - Yay!
My inspiration was zebra wrapping paper. I made my own Mod Podge and went to town. I have to admit the final result is better than I expected and Erica LOVES it!

I picked up cute little acrylic knobs at Lowes for $3 each. They are a little hard to see in this pictures but trust me, they look darling on this nightstand!

(OK here is the deal.... I've lost my camera battery charger AGAIN! How does this happen? Gee whiz. So for the time being all photos are done with my phone. Please oh please oh please let me find the charger soon! PLEASE!)

Inspiration Overload!

Egg-o-rama!

Yep, still coloring eggs and loving every minute of it (I'm so easy to please).
Today I used blackberries, turmeric and blueberries. I wanted to add a little character to the eggs so I used a paper towel to rub off color here and there before they dried.
I love 'em!

Boys.......

Easter is on Sunday so I'm doing some more eggs. I loved how onion peel colored my last bunch so I decided to start there.
I was so pleased with the way they were coming out and having a blast creating different
shades and designs.
THEN.........
In walks my 16 year old son.
I was sooooo excited to show him my beautifully colored eggs! I said "Oh, come look at these cool eggs that I dyed using onion peel!" He walked over looked at the eggs and said "Brown eggs, ya they sell those in the stores, I think they call them organic now."
Oh My Gosh!
He totally burst my bubble!

No worries, I still love the eggs and tomorrow I'm breaking out the beets!

There's always room for JELL-O......

The local grocery store was giving away cute Easter Jell-o molds, I couldn't resist.
Jello-JIGGLERS sound perfect for a fun little treat.
I have one question...... Are JIGGLERS supposed to be chewy?

Flower Power Headbands

I had so much fun making these headbands!
Guess what??? I didn't buy one inch of fabric. I went into my fabric stash and when I couldn't find what I was looking for there, I went into my closet. I had a couple of pretty blouses that I didn't wear, so I took a pair of scissors to them and this is what happened.
Ta-Da!
( I did have to buy the headbands but I picked those up at the
dollar store while in St. George.)

Homemade aqua globe

I wasn't sure how this would work so I tried it while we left town for spring break. What do ya know.... it worked like a charm and I like it so much more than those hoakie glass balls! It has a 'coolness' about it that I just love. Definitely satisfies my junkie side!
Now all I need is a way to keep the cat from getting in my flowers and EATING THEM! I had beautiful purple and yellow flowers when I left.
Gunnar, its a darn good thing I love you to pieces or you might be in some trouble here.

Flower Flip Flops

I picked up some cute little flip flops at a store here in St. George for $1!
ONE DOLLAR!
I really liked them but thought they needed a little something special so I found
some pretty flowers (yep, at the same store for $1!). I loved the color so much that I made a flower charm for my purse too.
Now my flip flops match my bag.
Sweet!

(I really have a problem with icky dirty flip flops, or any dirty shoes for that matter but when I only pay $2 its much easier to toss them out and grab a new clean pair.)

Homemade Hot Fudge..... YUMMERS!

While my sis was here today we started talking about homemade hot fudge (not sure how we got on that topic). I said "Ya, I made hot fudge for my neighbors and for the boys
for Christmas." Then I told her that it was on my blog.
Well, uhm..... I cant find it here! I'm having a duh moment.
So here's the deal..... I'm posting Yummy Yummy Homemade Hot fudge right now.
This recipe is to die for and the secret is TAKE YOUR TIME. Do not walk away. It will take you about 20 minutes to complete but the payoff is huge. You will have silky smooth hot fudge topping that is unforgettable.

2 (1 ounce) semisweet chocolate baking squares 3/4 cup sugar 1 cup evaporated milk 2 tablespoons butter 1 teaspoon vanilla extract Melt choc. in a heavy saucepan over low heat. Stir in sugar until smooth. Gradually add milk, stirring until smooth. Bring to a boil over medium/low heat stirring constantly. Boil, stirring constantly for about 6 minutes. Remove from head; stir in butter and vanilla. Store in refrigerator up to 3 weeks. Serve warm over ice cream and you'll be LOVED for a very, very, very long time!

Can you see it?

Today has been one heck of a day. I really didn't have anything blog-worthy to write about but then in my misery as I sat eating popcorn and watching Dancing with the Stars I came across this cute little piece of popcorn. It has a HEART shape in the middle. Can you see it?????
Cute right?!

(Not sure this is blog-worthy either, but oh well it is what it is.)

Whew.........

What a day.
I am so glad its over!

Blog Party

Come and Party with me!

This is my first experience with a blog party of this size and I'm having a blast! I am meeting amazing people with creativity that I never knew existed! I love meeting new blogger babes!

Jump on it and join the party!

Time to plant...

Today we decided to start on our vegetable garden. We're not always real successful but we still have fun with it. This year we are trying yellow squash, green zucchini, cilantro, cantaloupe, onion and tomato. While Isaac was posing for pictures a breeze came up and blew the tomato/onion tray out of his hand and onto the lawn. I wonder if we'll have tomatoes and onions surrounded by a bit of grass???? Haha guess we'll see what happens. You KNOW I'll post pictures!

Spring has Sprung!

My little 'Touch of Spring' project turned out pretty darn cute (if I don't say so myself) and the best part is that I only spent $2 bucks!I had my son round up some twigs, I used a vase that my daughter gave me for my birthday and then I went to the dollar store and picked up some little artificial flowers that I used for the blossoms.
Definitely a Dough-Style project.
