Have you priced leather conditioner lately? Holey Moley. Insanely expensive. I thought hmmmm, wonder if I could make my own? I decided to Google it. Wow, tons of different recipes online. I read through countless posts in an effort to determine the common denominators, if you will. I tried out a few different concoctions and finally came up with a fave. Its brilliant. Love it!
1/4 C. Olive Oil (I used extra virgin because that's what was in my pantry)
1/2 C. Vinegar
Essential oil of your choice (optional)
Simply pour all ingredients into a spray bottle and give a good shake. Apply to leather and rub in using an old rag. That's it. So simple and the results are beautiful.
Initially I was concerned about the smell of vinegar and I wasn't sold on the idea that an essential oil could 'mask' it but I went ahead and gave it a go. So stinkin' (pun intended) easy, and my leather sofas have never looked, or smelled, so good! The whole living room smelled of clove which is probably my favorite scent ever. Happy Camper Am I!
